The Situation

Having recently celebrated its 100th birthday, the FDA is justifiably proud of its long tradition of standing up for managers and professionals in the civil service. Conscious of the need to move with the times without retaining the traditions and values that are at the heart of their enduring success, in 2017 they embarked on a digital transformation programme and needed help to deliver it.

The Challenge

The FDA punch well above their weight when it comes to achieving successes for members, whether through high profile media coverage or effective pay negotiations, but many aspects of their digital infrastructure were holding them back. 

We started by developing a digital strategy which is ambitious enough to touch on every aspect of the business, but is still flexible and easy to manage, ensured it has become integral to their everyday work. 

​Embedding the digital strategy effectively into the organisation has helped the FDA move swiftly through the transformation programme. Cyberlogical has kept the user at the heart of decision making through the process and has defined and created a highly effective user experience optimised through user testing and continuous stakeholder and partner engagement.

The Results

Since the first phase of the project: a website and membership on-boarding and management system upgrade (the heart of their digital transformation programme) was completed in November 2018, the number of visitors has doubled and the number of logged-in members has increased nearly as much. Also, online membership sign-ups have increased by 97% year on year.
