Understand

Stop guessing. Start listening.

Every website, campaign and service is built on assumptions. We test them with the people who matter — your users — so you can make decisions based on what they actually think, need and do.

Sound familiar?

  • We redesigned the site and nothing improved.

We’ll find out why before you spend another pound.

  • Our team can’t agree on what users want.

    We’ll settle it with evidence.

  • People visit, but they don’t do what we hoped.

We’ll show you exactly where and why they stop.

How it works

What you think vs. what they do

We assumed: People read our homepage. What we found: Key messages were below where most people stopped scrolling. We assumed: Our navigation is clear. What we found: Labels made sense to the team, not to visitors. We assumed: Price isn’t the issue. What we found: Hidden pricing was stopping people from getting in touch.

FAQs

Questions we get asked

How many people do we need to speak to?

Fewer than you might think. Five to eight people is usually enough to uncover most usability problems, and six to ten interviews will show you the patterns in what your customers need. Surveys need more — usually 100 or more responses — to give you numbers you can trust.

How do you find the right participants?

We agree who you need to hear from, write screening questions to find them, then handle recruitment, scheduling, incentives and reminders. We can also speak to your own customers or supporters if you’d prefer.

Can our team watch the sessions?

Yes, and we’d encourage it. Seeing a real person struggle with something is far more convincing than reading about it. You can observe live, in person or remotely, and every session is recorded.

How long does user research take?

Most projects take between one and four weeks, depending on the method and how many people we speak to. We’ll give you a clear timeline before we start.

What happens after the research?

You get a plain-English findings report, a short highlight reel and a ranked list of what to change first. We’ll talk it through with your team, and we can help you make the changes too.
